Unker's and Wallace Racing Continue Partnership for 2018
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year in a row Unker's brand of therapeutic products is sponsoring professional race car driver Matt Wallace in the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, an annual racing event held at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The 2018 Smyrna races are scheduled to begin February 9 and continue through NASCAR's Speedweek, the sport's annual series of season-kickoff events held in Daytona, FL, leading up to the marquee Daytona 500 race on February 18th.
If the Wallace name seems familiar, it should be where racing is involved. Matt Wallace is the son of NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and nephew of NASCAR drivers Rusty and Kenny Wallace. In addition, Matt's sister Chrissy and cousin Steve are also stock car racing drivers. At the age of nine, the now 22-year old racer from Concord, North Carolinastarted racing Bandoleros, which are smaller sized stock cars for entry-level drivers. These days Wallace can be found behind the wheel of full-sized and full-speed Super Late Model cars.
Wallace and Unker's are hoping their continued partnership leads to victory lane for a second year in a row. Pro Late Model racing is fast and very competitive, but Wallace was able to drive his #6 Unker's car to a first-place finish for one of the week's evening races.
Second-year sponsor Unker's brand is a multi-purpose therapeutic salve manufactured in Upton, Wyoming by Olde Tyme Remedies, a Cincinnati, Ohio company operated by second generation owner Patricia Pendleton. The company also makes a spray version of the product as well as a lip balm. Both styles of pain reliever and the lip balm are made with all-natural ingredients and are 100% sourced and made in the USA. The products are sold nationwide at independent pharmacies and specialty retailers, as well as online.
The New Smyrna races marks the third time that the Unker's brand logo has been emblazoned on the outer shell of a Wallace-driven race car. Through business connections, Ms. Pendleton met driver Mike Wallace which led to Unker's sponsorship of Wallace's #28 car during the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Daytona.
Unker's is proud to be celebrating 35 years in business this year! A celebration was held at the Upton, WY facility in mid-September for the whole Unker's team and our friends in Upton and around the state. We were greatly honored to be recognized by the U.S. Government, as a proclamation was read in Congress by The Honorable Senator Mike Enzi (WY). Unker's also received a very nice letter of congratulations from Congresswoman Liz Cheney (WY-at large). Thank you to all of our retail partners and our loyal customers for being part of our first 35 years!
Move over Tide, M&Ms and Lowes. Unker's Therapeutic Products and MATT WALLACE (Matt Wallace Racing) is headed to New Smyrna for Speed Week beginning February 17 leading up to the Daytona 500 race. In 2014, we sponsored NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Mike Wallace (NASCAR), but this time, Unker's is proud to sponsor his son Matt, car #6, in the ARCHA Super Late Model event. We are a small, women owned manufacturing company from Upton, WY (pop. 1,100) but we will be alongside some of the largest brands in America with one of the most well known & well respected families in racing. What a blessing this is!Consider this post a challenge to all our FB friends, Unker's customers as well as friends and families to spread the word and be sure to watch Matt Wallace in the #6 Unker's car race right into the winners circle!

Olde Tyme Remedies, the manufacturer of Unker's and NATURub brands of therapeutic pain remedies, was featured on The Balancing Act® airing on Lifetime® Television, a nationally broadcast TV show that airs weekday mornings. Patricia Pendleton, CEO and Owner of Olde Tyme, represented the company.
The segment of the show discussed natural solutions for health and wellness, which fits Unker’s to a tee. Unker’s salve and NATURub spray have been made from all-natural essential oils such as camphor and eucalyptus ever since Patricia’s father began making the products in his garage in the early 1980s. The formula itself dates back to the early 1900s, discovered in a library book by another Pendleton ancestor who sought to hand-craft a salve for his family’s aches and pains.
Patricia's goal for the TV appearance was simple: to share her story and introduce her brand to more people.
While Ms. Patricia’s appearance on The Balancing Act was her first on national TV, it wasn’t the first time that Unker’s has been on a national stage. Through business connections, Patricia met NASCAR driver Mike Wallace, which led to a sponsorship and the Unker’s logo being emblazened on the side of Wallace’s #28 car during the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Daytona. Little did Patricia know that at that time, her business was racing towards the future.
The segment featuring Pendleton and Unker’s aired nationaly on August 29 and September 5, 2016, and will be seen in syndication throughout the Fall.
